What are the Pillars of Innovation?

Every organization says they want to innovate. 🚀
But most are missing the essentials.
After many years in the trenches, I’ve seen what works and what doesn't.
The Harvard Business Review recently laid it out in their piece on the '4 Pillars of Innovation Every Organization Needs'.
Here’s my take on it, and how you can apply it to your business today:
Culture of Innovation
→ This isn't just about having bean bags in the office.
↳ It's about creating an environment where risk-taking is encouraged and failure is seen as a stepping stone, not a setback.
Ask yourself: Are your employees afraid to fail?
Strategy and Leadership
→ Innovation needs direction.
↳ Without a clear strategy, even the best ideas can flounder.
Ensure your leadership team is aligned and committed to driving innovation forward.
Resources and Capabilities
→ Throwing money at a problem doesn’t always solve it.
↳ Your team needs the right tools and training to turn ideas into reality. 💡
Invest in continuous learning and the latest technologies to stay ahead.
Measurement and Rewards
→ What gets measured gets managed. 📊
↳ If you’re serious about innovation, you need to track it.
Set clear KPIs and reward teams who hit those targets.
Innovation isn’t a buzzword – it’s a necessity.
If you're not building these four pillars, you're building on sand. 🏖️
So, senior leaders, what are you waiting for?
Time to look in the mirror and ask: Are we truly set up to innovate?
